In an effort to create a single award, the United States Army has established a new "Master Combat Badge," which combines the Combat Infantry Badge (CIB) with the Expert Infantry Badge (EIB), both of which have been in existence for a long time. Infantry personnel who have proved both combat prowess and expert skills in their specialty will be awarded this emblem at the conclusion of their service. Soldiers who have acquired a combination of combat and expert badges in their particular fields will also be eligible to receive equivalent badges. This includes both medical personnel and other soldiers.

Through the implementation of this new project, the acknowledgment of soldiers' capabilities will be streamlined, and a clear and consistent emblem of their accomplishments will be provided. Army officials have stated that the Master Combat Badge is a way to honor the history of excellence, ability, and bravery that the CIB and EIB have represented for many years through their respective badges.

A full mark of service is provided by the new badge to those soldiers who have achieved both the Combat Infantryman (CIB) and the Elite Infantryman (EIB). The CIB is granted for active combat, while the EIB is awarded for exhibiting excellent infantry skills. It is anticipated that similar consolidated awards would be made available to medical staff and other members of the military in order to acknowledge their dual competences in combat situations and expert technical skills.

Members of the armed forces and veterans have expressed their satisfaction with the Army's decision to establish the Master Combat Badge. They view this choice as a means of simplifying and honoring the full spectrum of their service. This shift reflects the ongoing effort that the Army is making to recognize and reward the varied skill sets of its soldiers, with an emphasis on combat readiness and expert proficiency.

The new badge will be distributed at the beginning of next year, and additional information regarding the eligibility requirements and distribution will be available soon.
