The United States Navy has verified that an EA-18G Growler aircraft attempting to land on Wednesday morning caused a crash into San Diego Bay. Both pilots were able to successfully escape before the hit, and they were promptly rescued by a civilian boat that was located nearby.
At ten-fifteen in the morning, a jet belonging to the Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 135 "Black Ravens" crashed close to Naval Air Station North Island, which prompted a rapid response from the rescue services. It is said that the pilots are in stable condition at the hospital, where they were taken after being evacuated. The United States Navy has begun an inquiry into the reason for the collision and has launched containment measures for the oil spill in the harbor.
This occurrence comes after a string of military aviation mishaps, such as a Black Hawk crash involving the Army flying above Washington, District of Columbia, and a Growler crash that occurred in the state of Washington before this one. Following the progression of the investigation, it is anticipated that the Navy will offer additional updates.
