Donald Trump has been elected the 47th president of the United States, a remarkable turnaround from his 2020 defeat. On Wednesday, Trump achieved the requisite 270 electoral votes by winning in Wisconsin, underscoring his ongoing appeal to disillusioned and frustrated voters. This victory was achieved after a turbulent period that encompassed his refusal to concede the 2020 election, a Capitol disturbance, felony convictions, and even two assassination attempts.

By appealing to a polarized electorate, Trump's campaign resonated with male voters, particularly those enraged by the nation's current state. His support was further solidified by his assaults against Kamala Harris and his portrayal of a country in crisis. In Florida, Trump promised to "payback" his supporters, stating, "We've been through so much together, and today you showed up in record numbers to deliver a victory."

Trump has committed to a vigorous agenda as president, which includes reorganizing the federal government and targeting his opponents. On January 20, Trump will return to power following his victory over Harris, who made history as the first woman of color to appear on a major party ticket.

Trump becomes the oldest individual to assume the position at the age of 78 and will be accompanied by Vice President JD Vance, who is 40. Vance will represent the millennial generation at the highest levels of government.
