When Marine Cpl. Taylor Hairfield, who comes from a long line of Marines, surprised her brother, Kevin Christensen after he graduated from boot camp. It was a touching scene at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, South Carolina.
Taylor's presentation of her Eagle, Globe, and Anchor (EGA) to Kevin, which marked his transfer into the Corps, was captured on video during the deeply emotional ceremony, which was videotaped by their father, who had retired from the Marine Corps.
An endurance test, a test of resiliency, and a test of commitment are all part of the final phase of Marine boot camp, the Crucible. This step culminates in a hike that is ten miles long. The subsequent ceremony was much more significant for Taylor and Kevin than the one that came before it. Kevin, now the seventh member of his family to acquire the title of Marine, was taken aback when he saw his sister waiting for him after he had finished his hike. As Taylor approached Kevin to offer his congratulations and words of support, Kevin tried to maintain his composure in the face of the overwhelming emotions he was experiencing. The words of their father, Kevin Christensen Sr., who recounted her genuine admonition, were as follows: "All she said to him was, 'Don't let the Brotherhood down.'" You are responsible for representing the Marine Corps in the same manner you speak for our family. You have my love.
Following that, Taylor uploaded the video on the internet, where she proudly proclaimed that she was the "proudest big sister in the world." Given that he had served in the military, their father, Kevin Christensen, expressed how significant the experience was to him. In expressing his delight at witnessing his children carry on the Marine legacy passed down through the family, he said, "This is one of the highlights of my life as a father for me."
Following Kevin's graduation, Taylor and her husband, who are also members of the Marine intelligence community, intend to relocate to Japan.
