Deep personal and professional links to Hawaii prevail for General Ronald Clark, who took command of U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) on November 8, 2024 Clark is familiar with the area having served in the military for decades, including time spent at Schofield Barracks. Born in Tripler Army Medical Centre, his daughter, now thirty, represents the close relationship the Clark family has with the islands.

Graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, General Clark has a great deal of knowledge from a remarkable career spanning several countries and combat areas. Early postings for him were in Germany and Southwest Asia under Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, then major responsibilities in the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii. Along with serving in key capacities in the Pentagon and NATO, he has since commanded several esteemed units, including the 101st Airborne Division and the 82nd Airborne Division.

Senior Military Assistant to the Secretary of Defence was his most recent job. Now, Clark's leadership is mostly directed on supervising USARPAC, the Army's biggest service component command, which is essential for the Indo-Pacific. General Clark continues to drive military strategy in Hawaii, so his great knowledge and close relationships to the island make him a particularly competent leader for this important post.
