Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George has stated that the U.S. Army is redoubling its efforts to modernize with advanced technology, with a particular emphasis on the rapid deployment of equipment and the development of more robust defenses against drone threats. George emphasized the importance of key initiatives to expedite the service's transformation during his address at the annual conference of the Association of the U.S. Army.

Since assuming the position one year ago, George has advocated for the concept of "in contact" transformation, which involves providing personnel with the necessary equipment in realistic environments to test and refine new capabilities. He identified four critical areas for the acceleration of modernization, including the faster deployment of advanced technology and the streamlining of funding.

"Our formations will significantly improve their capacity to counter enemy uncrewed systems," George stated, emphasizing the significance of coordinating these endeavors with the Army's network and command-and-control improvement capabilities.

George underscored the necessity of making more informed and expedited purchasing decisions during his speech at the Eisenhower luncheon. "We must prioritize and make informed investments due to our lean numbers and tight budget," he stated. The Army's modernization initiative is designed to equip personnel with the most effective resources for addressing both present and future threats, thereby guaranteeing their adaptability and readiness on the battlefield.
