Sgt. Quandarius Davon Stanley, a 23-year-old Army sergeant with the 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command, passed away as a result of injuries he sustained during a non-combat mission in Gaza. Stanley passed away on October 31 as a result of injuries he suffered in May when high winds and turbulent seas severely damaged a pier, resulting in the grounding of several Army vessels. This information was corroborated by the Army.

Stanley was initially treated at an Israeli facility before being transferred to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, in June for additional treatment. The news was relayed by Capt. Shkeila Milford-Glover, a command spokesperson, described Sgt's loss. Stanley as a tragedy for the unit and all who knew him. She expressed her deep sorrow.

Additionally, two additional soldiers sustained minor injuries during the Gaza pier incident; however, they were able to resume their duties. Sgt. Stanley is remembered as a dedicated service member who represented his unit with honor, despite the grievous injuries he sustained.
