resulted in the shooting death of Jeremy Culp, a 32-year-old veteran of the United States Army. During his time in the 82nd Airborne Division, Culp deployed in Afghanistan and completed a mission there in 2012.

It was his uncle, Daren Johns, who recounted the sad final moments of Culp's life. He mentioned that during their final interaction at their house on Oak Circle Drive, Culp appeared to be "looking through" his mother.

Johns disclosed that Culp had experienced difficulties in dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as well as a traumatic brain injury as a result of his past service in the military. He stressed that although Culp had encountered difficult episodes in the past, he had looked to be controlling his condition up until that tragic day when he apparently believed that his home was under attack. He noted that Culp had experienced tough episodes in the past. As a consequence of this, he ran away, which ultimately led to a conflict with police enforcement that ended in more than 25 shots being fired.

After the incident, Culp's family is forced to deal with their loss and questions regarding the events behind the shooting that remain unresolved. In their memories, he is remembered as a compassionate person who had a great love for his family and made spending time with them a priority on many occasions. The members of his family are encouraging veterans who are struggling with issues related to their mental health to seek assistance and support.

The funeral ceremonies for Jeremy Culp, which will take place on October 26, will be held at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Through this event, his family aims to pay tribute to his memory while also bringing attention to the challenges that many veterans endure after returning from military service.
